BEHIND BOBBIN & EM

I began sewing when I was about eight years old, creating tiny little outfits for my dolls. That early passion quickly grew into a love for making clothes for myself, sparking a deep curiosity about how garments are constructed. Over the years, that curiosity only deepened, leading me to study Fashion Design at Falmouth University, where I graduated in 2022 with a 2:1 honours degree. Today, I specialise in clothing alterations, helping every piece fit beautifully and feel just right. I also offer a bespoke, made-to-measure service if you're looking for something truly special... and I'm always up for a challenge!
I get asked a lot... "Are you Bobbin?" The answer is no, but it's a great question! A bobbin is the small but essential part of a sewing machine that you can't sew without. It sits quietly underneath, doing the work that holds everything together. So for me (Em) to do what I do, I need the bobbin. No bobbin, no stitching. That's where Bobbin & Em began... because one simply doesn't work without the other.
